I’ll Tell You What I Want, What I Really Really Want.

I’m into throwback songs lately.
70s. 80s. 90s.
I’m remembering:
How awesome U2 is
How much I love 70s soul
And how much more fun it is to make dinner if I can also dance around the kitchen, and embarrass my teenagers.
It was in a moment of carefree, spaghetti-sauce-making haze that I thought about the Spice Girls.
And I thought about what I really want.
What I really really want.
I’m pretty clear on it now, but I wasn’t always
And many of the people I coach aren’t either.
They say things like,
I would go after it If I knew what I really wanted
Or
I can’t decide between option A, B or C
Usually, the lack of clarity and indecision has been going on for a while.
And usually, it’s because they are only accessing one type of human intelligence - cognitive.
Don’t get me wrong.
Cognitive intelligence is powerful, but sometimes our excessive overthinking and pro and con list double-checking can get us wound into a box.
There are some questions that the rational mind is not always best suited to answer - at least not alone.
Check out this video here for a deeper dive into how you might use your embodied intelligence to answer the fundamental, human question of “What do I really want?”
